General: Walking Group

On Wednesday November 30th at 7pm, the walking group will be walking through Victoria Park in Kitchener. We will meet in the parking lot by the clock tower at the Queen and Park street entrance.

Today's walking group will be cancelled today due to attending the Santa Claus Parade!
And will be cancelled Monday due to the General Membership meeting.
The walking group will resume on Wednesday November 23rd at 7pm! Hope to see you then!

Women's: Collection for Family Shelter

The Women's Committee is collecting hygiene products for men and women, and teddy bears, books and art supplies for children for Mary's Place Family Shelter.
Donations will be accepted by union chairpersons or dropped off at the local office - 600 Wabanaki Drive, Kitchener.
Gift bags will be delivered in December to individuals staying at the shelter.

Event: Local 1106 in the News

Members of Victoria Place were joined by other members of Local 1106 and members from other Local Unions to take on the sweltering heat to hold an information Picket on Monday July 11, 2011 to protest the staff cutbacks that will affect the quality of care the residents receive.

A great big thanks goes out to the members from other workplaces in the Local that came out to support us

Women's: Women's Committee Is Collecting Women's Hygiene Products

The Women's Committee is currently collecting women's hygiene products to make up baskets for women staying in women's shelters this holiday season.
If you have any unused women's hygiene products such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, deordorant, bath stuff, sanitary napkins, tampons, toothbrush, or unused make-up, etc.
Please drop them off at the union office or give them to your local women's committee member.

Deadline is Tuesday December 7th 2010.
